The Grand Bazaar is located at the entrance of the medina. There is the former residence of the Mendoub, representative of the Sultan. The great Bazaar also housed the Embassy of Germany in the 1940s. Today hosts a splendid trees adorned Garden Court, testimony of these historic sites.

The small Bazaar, is the heart of medicine. In this neighborhood, full of history, stands a large mosque built in the 18th century on the ruins of an old Portuguese Cathedral.

Built in the high point of the medina, the kasbah dominates the harbour and the city.

Fortified in Roman times, the Kasbah was used as main residence of Sultan in 1684, until that was burned by the British. Today, you can admire the Palace of the Sultan, Dar El Maghzen, the Museum of Moroccan arts and the Museum of Antiquities, Dar El Ghorfa, which displays the prehistoric and ancient vestiges of Tangier.
