Ascension to Mount Sinai in Egypt

During my second day in Dahab I decided to take a tour to visit the Greek Orthodox monastery of Santa Catalina. Located at the foot of Jebel Musa, Mount Sinai where Moses stood up tables of the 10 commandments in the Bible crucial point that globalization the three monotheistic religions of the world.
The tour has included a visit to the monastery and the ascent of Mount Sinai. There are two different types of tour: the night to climb the peak at night to see sunrise from the top (not recommended in winter the cold and the wind hits) and one day where he made a visit to montasterio by morning and begins the ascent in the afternoon to watch the sunset at the top.
The day before I went to three travel agencies to check prices and I kept the 100 pounds that was offered in the past, the entrance to the monastery, however, was not included in what should be adding 18 pounds more.
City holy monastery of Santa Catalina is a Greek protectorate in the heart of Egypt. This is an Orthodox monastery of the oldest in the world that is still inhabited. It lies at the foot of Mount Sinai and is a particularly holy place revered by the Greek Orthodox community.

Tours are conducted in the morning and close at 0:30. It is only advisable to visit the monsaterio for free if you have your own car. From Dahab and Sharm El-Sheikh depart day or night tours that include a view of the monastery and the ascent of Mount Sinai by quite cheaply.
It is advisable to take food for the day. After visiting the monastery you to a restaurant offering menu with chicken and rice that goes for 25 pounds and the quality is not too good.
Then we started the climb to the legendary Mount Sinai. A leisurely pace is done in a couple of hours and the walk is tiring especially in the last flight of stairs. Anyway, if you are minimally as you will do without any problems. Are best view: around the top only be seen arid peaks and more peaks in the desert, without a minimum gap of life, or even plant.
I found the tables of the commandments of Moses on the top but a small church-closed-and wind that convinced us to return without waiting to arrive the evening.
It is advisable to carry a flashlight to make your way back if you do that day or on the rise if you do at night to see the sunrise. However, the road is easy to follow and do not enter too many complications.
If you are tired you will always find a camel that I will go for a few pounds or you can also pick any of the forces in Bedouin stalls that are on the road.
